Murals brings Jabiru water tower to life

29 July 2021

The mural on the 34 metre high water tower in Jabiru is now complete with artists putting on the final touches this week.

Proper Creative artists Jesse Bell and David Collins who carried out the painting of the mural itself, worked alongside artists from Marrawuddi Gallery who shared ideas and gathered images for the mural.

Proper Creative, who are also responsible for all of the large scale murals in the Darwin CBD.

The mural on the water tower has taken  approximately three weeks to complete, including painting two undercoats and lots of crane usage.

This larger-than-life project is one of the major parts of the Jabiru Beautification Project, and it is hoped the mural will be a tourist drawcard to Jabiru and Kakadu.

This Jabiru Beautification Project is funded by the Northern Territory Government and Director of National Parks.
